Not every slave is obtainable. Or at least not without some measure of ingenuity and pure luck. There had been a merchant's slave girl that had caught his eye, hailing from the lower equatorial region of Schendi. Dark complected with wild and beautiful hair, she had held some sublime promise in her ethereal blue gaze. From the very moment the metal worker had laid eyes upon her, he'd known the woman was his. The Fates however, played the cruel prank and the woman had been seized by another, quicker than he. She was taken afar, and the metal worker, out of luck, came to accept that fact that he'd never see this creature again. Not ever.

For more than a year, his dreams had been haunted by this woman. Now and then he would see her face in a crowd, call out to her like a fool, only to discover he'd been mistaken. Vexed by a mere slave, she remained on his mind more often than not. And not even the strong effects of paga could erase her. She was his.
